Thanksgiving memories start in the kitchen with yellowed recipes hand-written on crinkled paper and passed down through the ages. It’s a time to follow old traditions or make new ones, to feed the people we’re most thankful for in our lives.
Mastering the memory-making dish, a signature contribution to the feast, comes natural for some. Others, if we’re honest, need a little help.
In a JCF Housement kitchen, you have all the room you need to get a little messy and some inbuilt help with cleaning up too. Whether you’re hosting, helping, or aspiring to a potluck slam-dunk elsewhere, concocting the right Turkey-Day appetizer in a JCF Housement is a breeze before, during, and after.
A hearty appetizer helps to set the stage for the savory buffet. Something substantive but not too heavy goes just right. So, if you’re at a loss, take a shot at:
Primetime Pork Sausage Balls:
As pleasant to pop as they are to smell, these cheesy sausage balls won’t last long. Easy to make and even easier to eat, these pluckable delights introduce a feast of deep flavors and deep aromas.
1lb Sausage (we recommend hot pork)
3 cups all-purpose baking mix
10-12 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
Prep time: 15-20 minutes
Cook time: 18-21 minutes
After you’ve greased a foil-lined baking pan, it’s time to get your hands dirty. The best recipes call for a little mess, and this one’s no different.
Combine the sausage, baking mix, and cheddar cheese in a large bowl. Stir the mixture well to evenly distribute the ingredients. Using your hands, form and roll the sausage balls to around ¾-inch thick. Any smaller and they might burn. Any larger and they may not cook. Cupping each ball between the both palms (like you’ve just caught a lightning bug) should do the trick.
Once you’ve placed your sausage balls evenly-spaced along your baking pan, the rest is as easy as waiting. Baking at 400° for 18-21 minutes, your sausage balls should cook up with a slightly crusty outside and a gooey, moist inside.
The ingredients are seasoned enough in themselves, but if you’re looking for that festive edge, we recommend a careful dash of cinnamon over each ball before baking. You’d be truly surprised how a sprinkling of cinnamon really brings out the richness of the meat and cheese.
Now that you’ve secured your position at the Thanksgiving table, it’s time to take care of that aforementioned mess.
In your 700 to 1,300 sq-ft JCF Housement, quality construction and amenity doesn’t stop with the spacious lawn, laminate floors, ample driveway, or renting ease. JCF Housement kitchens are made for exactly this kind of festive mess.
Granite countertops clean easily with warm water and a casual application of soap. Harsher chemicals are for less-quality surfaces and no one wants to breath in their just-made thanksgiving dish through a cloud of caustic alcohol or other stinky sprays.
JCF Housement kitchens are richly appointed top to bottom. With elegant fixtures, deep and stylish storage, and laminate floors, your Housement kitchen is as pleasant to cook in as it is easy to clean.
Of course, the kitchen isn’t the only place to cook. With spacious backyards, each Housement opens up for numerous outdoor cooking possibilities. Ideal for grilling, smoking, or even frying that fat Thanksgiving turkey, JCF Housements offer space a plenty for all culinary crafts.
Renting without the headache
Unlike cramped, damp, old apartment complexes, JCF Housements offer the freedom and space of a neighborhood home. With a community pool, fitness center, walking trails, and gated entrances, life in a JCF Housement will have you feeling thankful.
